Jada Pinkett Smith has slammed August Alsina over their alleged love affair, saying there is no truth in what Mr Alsina has alleged in his interview about them.
The 48-year-old Jade Pinkett Smith reacting to the alleged love affair, said the claims by August Alsina are “absolutely not true,” releasing the statement to Page Six through her rep just hours after he appeared on “The Breakfast Club.”
During his interview, published on his YouTube on Tuesday, June 30, the singer told the host Angela Yee went into detail about their alleged love affair that he claims Will Smith approved of. August Alsina even said that the actor gave him his blessing.
During the sit-down, August Alsina alleged that Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s relationship was no longer a romantic one. “I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership that they’ve spoken on several times,” he claimed. “He gave me his blessing.”
The musician revealed that her son, Jaden Smith, actually introduced them in 2015. August Alsina then joined them on a family trip to Hawaii one year later. In 2017, August and Jada Pinkett Smith attended the BET Awards together.
Claiming he “totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life,” August added, “I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her.” Revealing how deep his love runs for Jada Pinkett, Alsina said, “I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it so much so to the point that I can die right now and be OK with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.” He then explained why he came out about their alleged love affair now.
“I really loved a person. I experienced that and I know what that feels like — and some people never get that in this lifetime. So, I know that I am completely blessed,” he told Angela Yee, “And this conversation is difficult because … it would be hard for people to understand, but once it starts to affect me and my livelihood, I have to speak up about my truth.”
When Yee asked August if he was “disappointed” that Jada Pinkett has never addressed their alleged romantic relationship, he responded,
“I really can’t even get into the thought of that because I am only responsible for myself, right? I am only responsible for, you know, what I do. When I am repressing and suppressing things and it starts to affect me, I have to address it. I just always stay solid because I never want to be the person to cause confusion.”
