The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 573 new cases of the novel coronavirus, as the number of recorded new cases in a single day since the outbreak of the virus in the country keeps increasing.
NCDC in its daily update on Monday 15th June 2020, reported that the 573 new cases recorded had Lagos state with the highest number of positive cases. The reports showed Lagos recorded the highest daily numbers, with 216 positive new cases from the 573 new cases reported by the specialist centre on Monday.
The NCDC put the national tally at 16,658, and the total number of discharged patients at 5,349 and death toll at 424, as at Monday 15th June 2020.
The 573new cases were recorded in 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The distribution of these numbers, shows the following:
