Lagos State To Reopen Schools By September 14th 2020

The Lagos State Government have announced that they have discharged 60 Patients from COVID-19 isolation centres, bringing the total discharged patients in the state so far to 321.

Governor Sanwo-Olu who made this known on Tuesday May 5th 2020, said the 60 Patients discharged from isolation centres, consisted of 40 males and 20 females. These 60 Patients were all discharged from Yaba, Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki isolation centres in the state.

In his daily briefings of developments in the state as regarding the coronavirus pandemic, Governor Sanwo-Olu said:

“Today, we discharged 60 COVID-19 Lagos patients; 40 males and 20 females, from our Yaba, Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki isolation facilities to reunite with their families and society.

The patients, 31 from the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 19 from the Ibeju-Lekki and 10 from Eti-Osa Isolation Centres were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative in two consecutive readings.

With this, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 321,” he said.

The Governor continued by adding that:

“The high number of discharged patients should not be an avenue for us to shun all precautionary measures to avoiding the transmission and spread of the virus.

It is important that we do the right things and act responsibly at this time.

Easing the lockdown is not a reason for us to rush out and eschew all safety guidelines.
Social distancing should be strictly adhered to.

If you have no reason to be out, please stay home, stay safe and save lives,” he added.
