Davido mourns DJ Arafat as he pledges to look after the family left behind by the Ivorian and African music legend, popularly known as the Yorobo.

Davido who on Tuesday 13th August 2019 took to his Instagram page to continue his eulogies of his late friend, said he still cannot believe DJ Arafat his gone, saying as long as he is still on this earth, he will be there for his family. He said:

“Woke up this morning still can’t believe you gone! I love you, brother… I will be there for your family as long as I’m here !”

The sad news of the demise of the originator of the Coupé-Décalé genre Ange Didier Houon also known as DJ Arafat broke yesterday, by an Ivorian State media, RTI. The State media had reported that the singer died after a ghastly motorbike accident in the Country’s capital of Abidjan on Monday.

RTI had on Monday 12th August 2019, tweeted this message about the death of the Francophone musical legend:

“Death of artist DJ Arafat … today at 8 am as a result of a road accident overnight while driving a motorbike without his helmet,”

He was said to have sustained some serious injuries and was in a coma at the Polyclinic Hospital in Abidjan where he was later pronounced dead. He was just age 33.

Aside from his collaborations with Nigerian Super Star, Davido, he also had other collaborations with other Nigerian and other African musicians. His death has brought a great shock to the entertainment industry in Africa as fans all over the world have continued to mourn his death.

This was the message put up by Davido pledging to support and be there for his family:

“Last time we performed together at My concert in Abidjan 🇨🇮 @djarafat !! Woke up this morning still can’t believe you gone! I love you brother… I will be there for your family as long as I’m here ! Like they say The best flowers are picked first 👼🏾 ! Enjoy heaven YOROBO ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ REST IN PERFECT PEACE ❤️❤️”
