The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported that a total of 108 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed today, Thursday 23rd April 2020, there by bringing total confirmed infected persons in Nigeria as at this date to 981.
The NCDC in their daily updates on the fight against the novel coronavirus, said the total number of confirmed infected persons as at 11:pm Thursday 23rd April 2020, was 981. This update was published on their official Twitter handle a few hours ago.
From the figure of the 108 newly confirmed infected persons as at today and across some states of the federation, the distribution shows the following numbers and from what state.:
78 in Lagos
14 in FCT
5 in Ogun
4 in Gombe
3 Borno
2 in Akwa Ibom
1 in Kwara
1 in Plateau
So far and from what NCDC have been reporting, shows Nigeria as at today have 981 of the coronavirus. The total number of those who have been discharged and 197 and total deaths put at 31.

Also, earlier on Thursday 23rd April 2020, Minister of health Osagie Ehanire informed Nigerians that over 40 health workers have tested positive for the coronavirus in Nigeria.
Giving updates on Thursday during the presidential task force on COVID-19 briefing, had urged frontline workers to always protect themselves when treating patients.
“I urge you all to take the necessary precautions. Please do not try to treat patients without adequate PPE. This advice is necessary due to the number of health workers who have tested positive.
They are over 40 now and some others have had to be quarantined in the last two weeks due to exposure and are therefore not able to contribute to the health sector efforts. I urge you all to remain vigilant in the line of duty,” he stated.
