KAROTA To Enforce Governor's Directives On Tricycle Operators

Kano Road and Traffic Agency KAROTA has reaffirmed commitment to enforcing the state government’s directive that Tricycle operators, henceforth must carry one passenger at a time to avoid close contact between passengers in a bid to curtail the spread of the coronavirus in the state after the emergence of an index case in the state on Saturday.

The Managing Director, Kano Road and Traffic Agency KAROTA, Baffa Dan’agundi made this known on Sunday at a meeting with leaders of various Associations of the Tricycle Operators in the state who have also pledged their support to the state government efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

According to a statement issued by the agency public relations officer Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa, various leaders who were at the stakeholders’ meeting had directed all their members to adhere to the new directive as the government is doing all within its powers to protect the lives of the people of the state.

Dan’agundi assured that the measure is aimed at preventing the spread of the virus and not in any way intended to cause any form of hardship on the tricycle operators.

‘’Government, would lift the ban on carrying more than one passenger as soon as things get better urging all and sundry to bear with the situation at hand,’’ said the Managing Director.

‘’He further stated that the men of the agency and other security agencies would ensure compliance of the order within the state as a matter of urgency.’’
