Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 is developing a National Policy on the usage of face-masks for the prevention and spread of Coronavirus.
Secretary to the government of the Federation and Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Mr Boss Mustapha stated this National Policy on Friday at the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 in Abuja.
The SGF commended the frontline healthcare workers for their commitment and sacrifices and the government was working on the issue of incentives, medical and life insurance as they battle to save lives.
Mr Mustapha maintained that all members of the working team have commenced undergoing the mandatory 14days quarantine in the country.
Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu admitted that on the figure earlier given in cases of COVID-19 in Bauchi was reviewed from eight to six cases.
Dr Ihekweazu maintained that the Agency did not spend a penny on SMS as reported in the social media saying the bulk messages were supported by the private sector.
He urged Nigerians to observe physical distancing and avoid social gathering at the celebration period for Christians.
The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Enahire said during the briefing that the Chinese health professionals were being quarantined and they would only play an advisory role, support to combating the pandemic in the country.
The Minister explained that NCDC was monitoring the operations of Chinese health experts in isolation.
