Coronavirus: CG Of Immigration Muhammad Babandede Test Positive

The Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede has tested positive to the dreaded coronavirus.

CG Muhammad Babandede who recently returned from the United Kingdom was advised to self-isolate while a test was carried out and came out positive.

In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the Service, Mr Sunday James says as a top official of government Muhammad Babandede, has adhered to the NCDC instructions to self isolate himself.

The statement further says Muhammad Babandede is active and directing the affairs of the service online, while the Deputy Comptroller General Overseeing the administration of the service is in touch online to keep service activities running within this period.

So far, and according to the update by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Nigeria now has 97 cases from the coronavirus pandemic. 

This figure was confirmed on Saturday night when 8 more cases of the coronavirus were recorded in Nigeria.

The new cases are 2 in the FCT, 4 in Oyo, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Osun State.

The Kaduna case is believed to be the state governor who announced that he tested positive for the virus.

One death has been recorded since the outbreak of the virus in the country, with 3 discharged.

Currently; Lagos- 59 FCT- 16 Ogun- 3 Enugu- 2 Ekiti- 1 Oyo- 7 Edo- 2 Bauchi- 2 Osun-2 Rivers-1 Benue- 1 and Kaduna- 1
