Prince Harry and his wife Meghan’s Vancouver home is reported to worth $14 million, and it is not known whether or not the mansion was bought or leased out to them, but Prince Harry will be returning there after a crucial family meeting with the Queen over their move to step back as senior British Royals.

According to the report by the UK Evening Standard, Prince Harry and Meghan’s Vancouver home which is a mansion on the Vancouver Island, was where the family spent their extended Christmas break. It has been reported that the waterfront home is owned by Hollywood mogul Frank Giustra, although he has denied this, the report added.

The latest report comes just a day after the Queen gave her approval to Prince Harry and Meghan to have their own private life away from the Royal family, where she released a statement saying she was “entirely supportive” of their desire for a new role but “would have preferred” them to remain full-time working royals.

She expected final decisions to be made in the coming days, she said.

Senior royals have been in talks about Prince Harry and Meghan’s role after they said they wanted to “step back”.

In the statement, Queen Elizabeth agreed to the outcome of the talks at Sandringham, which also involved the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge, which she described as “very constructive”. She said:

My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family,” she said.

“Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”

She said it had been agreed there would be “a period of transition in which the Sussex’s will spend time in Canada and the UK” after Harry and Meghan “made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives”.

“These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days,” she said.

The urgent talks were convened after the Sussex’s surprised the rest of the Royal Family on Wednesday with a statement expressing their desire to “step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family”.

They also said they wanted a “progressive new role” within the institution, where they would be financially independent and divide their time between the UK and North America.

Although no other family member was consulted about the timing of the announcement, the duke and duchess said it came after “many months of reflection and internal discussions”.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has also offered his support to Harry and Meghan and said most Canadians would welcome the couple making their home there.

The Canadian Prime Minister said there were “still lots of discussions to have” but backed the couple’s wish to spend much of their time in the Commonwealth country, where Harry’s grandmother the Queen is the country’s head of state.

Trudeau was quoted to have said: “I think most Canadians are very supportive of having royals be here, but how that looks and what kind of costs are involved, there are still lots of discussions to have.”

He added: “There are still a lot of decisions to be taken by the royal family, by the Sussex’s themselves, as to what level of engagement they choose to have.

“We are obviously supportive of their reflections but have responsibilities in that as well. We’re not entirely sure what the final decisions will be, what the dispositions are and those are decisions for them.”

He said the federal Canadian government had not been involved “up until this point” about what the couple’s move to the country would involve. He said discussions were ongoing about who would pay for what, after a backlash about Canadian taxpayers covering security costs.

The Queen is still having a discussion with other royal family members, to quickly reach a solution to the Prince Harry and Meghan decision to quit duties as senior Royal family, in order to focus on other important issues.
