Dutch Eredivisie side, PSV Eindhoven have parted ways with their manager, Mark Van Bommel. The Ex-Barcelona and Netherlands midfielder and Ex-coach of PSV’s U19 side was sacked as head coach of the senior team after just 18 months of being in charge.

According to the report by BBC, the sacking of Mark van Bommel came on Monday 16th December 2019 after recording just two wins in eight games in the Dutch Eredivisie.

PSV are fourth in the league, 10 points behind leaders Ajax, and lost 3-1 to Feyenoord on Sunday.

Bommel who only managerial experience was as a youth coach, during his days won four league titles in two playing stints at PSV, replaced Phillip Cocu in June 2018

“The continuous series of negative results is a decline too large and unworthy of PSV,” the club said.

Van Bommel’s temporary successor is expected to be announced later on Monday, the BBC reported added.
