Arsenal Record Their Worst Start To A Season After Losing 1-2 To Brighton

Arsenal FC even with Unai Emery gone, still cannot find a win, as they were beaten yet again at the Emirate Stadium, losing 1-2 to Brighton.

The game on Thursday night in a way, showed that players and not managers seems to be the problem, or player selection by the managers or both, as they recorded their worst start to a season since 1977 and are now 10 points off Champions League spot.

Arsenal’s manager Freddie Ljungberg is experiencing his first defeat as an interim manager, after drawing the first one. But the Thursday game was his first at home as an interim manager and it did not go well for the Arsenal legend.

Brighton scored first through Adam Webster, stunning the home crowd, before Alexandre Lacazette who was marking his 100th Gunners appearance levelled with a header.

A goal from David Luiz was ruled offside after VAR check and it was rightfully spotted.

But it was Neal Maupay who finally headed Brighton’s winner from Aaron Mooy’s cross to give his team all the maximum points.

Arsenal will now go back and prepare for their next game against West Ham on Monday; while Brighton will take on Wolves.
