Omotola Jalade Adds 'Dr' To Her Name, After Her Honorary Doctorate Award

Veteran Nollywood actress and singer, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde has now added a new title to her name (Dr) after she was honoured with a Honorary Doctorate Degree of Arts by Igbinedion University Okada, in Edo State, Nigeria.

Omotola Jalade Ekehinde who is one of the most influential actresses/actors in Africa, was honoured for her contributions and influence in the Nigerian Entertainment industry and enduring humanitarian work both in Nigeria and Africa in general.

The actress who posted the news on her Instagram account late Saturday night, posted a snap of her Honorary Doctorate Degree certificate and some snaps of her in her gown, showing before and after, with this caption:

The actress who is said to be the most watched actress in Africa, and also a recipient of numerous high profile awards both local and international, notably amongst them being that from Time Magazine in 2013, where she was nominated as one of 100 most influential people in the world, with the likes of former United States of America First Lady, Michelle Obama and singer Beyonce, thanked the Institution for their kind gesture.

The beautiful mother of four was not the only notable Nigerian honoured on the day, as the likes of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi (Kusenla III), Chairman Business International Management, and Mr. Sow Bertin Agba, were also honoured.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, said the awardees were honoured for their contribution to human development and progress at the national and international levels.
