Queen’s cousin Tatiana Mountbatten faces driving ban for speeding

The cousin to Queen Elizabeth, Lady Tatiana Mountbatten is now facing a driving ban having been caught over speeding three times in 10 days.

According to the report by Evening standard, the 29-year-old Lady Tatiana Mountbatten who was caught speeding in her Porsche on the same road three times in just 10 days, has admitted being behind the wheel of the car when it broke the 60mph M4 speed limit three times in March this year.

The report said the aristocrat, who is the daughter of George Mountbatten 4th Marquess of Milford Haven, now faces an automatic driving ban due to the offending.

However, in a bid to keep hold of her licence, she plans to argue she will suffer “exceptional hardship” if banned from the road, Bexley magistrates’ court heard yesterday.

Lady Tatiana Mountbatten, an equestrian who has trained under Olympian Charlotte Dujardin, was first caught out by a speed camera near Heston services on March 1 driving at 70mph.

Her 2018 Porsche Macan was then clocked five days later, on March 6, travelling at 71mph and then again on March 10 at 70mph.

In paperwork submitted to the court after her third offence, Lady Tatiana wrote in mitigation: “I use my car to drive to work every day. Seven days a week” the report stated.

She did not turn up at court yesterday, when her representative, Mark Haslam, asked for all three cases to be sentenced at a hearing in December and said he will argue Lady Tatiana should be spared a driving ban.

Lady Tatiana Mountbatten, a distant cousin of the Queen, is a professional dressage rider and horse trainer. She was unveiled as an ambassador for luxury fashion retailer Crofton & Hall last year.

She gave her address to the court as a multi-million-pound apartment in Chelsea, pleading guilty to all three speeding offences by post. She already has penalty points on her licence and faces three added points for each offence which will take her over the 12-point limit, at which a ban is usually imposed, Evening standard further stated.
