The members of Mbiri Community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State are presently living in fears, following the death of the heir apparent to the throne of Mbiri kingdom, Prince Evans Alekwe, Asaba Metro news had reported.

According to the report, the Members of the community who were thrown into uncontrollable mourning and anger took the remains of the late Prince, laid it down on the traditional crowning stool and crowned him King.

The move seen by most people as a desecration of the Kingdom, has, however, been overshadowed by reactions of the people who are pointing accusing fingers to some spiritual foul play targeted at eliminating the true heir to the throne.

Asaba Metro stating further disclosed that a member of the community who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the Prince died on Sunday, September 22, 2019, of alleged poisoning. “It’s an abomination for the Prince to die while his father is still alive and on the throne”.
