Presidency following the backlash President Muhammadu Buhari is receiving over whether or not he has a Secondary School Certificate which is the West African Examinations Council Certificate (WAEC) has taken to social media to share a photo showing the President, his then classmates and teachers during his days at the Katsina Provincial School in 1961.
According to the photo shared by Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, the photo was taken when the President was in form VI at the Kastina Provincial School in 1961.
The photo was posted online, after one Mr Henry Adewumi, a Deputy Registrar of West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in charge of School Registration while appearing at the ongoing Presidential Election petitions Tribunal in Abuja said that President Muhammadu Buhari, obtained a Cambridge University West African Examination certificate with five credits, a claim the opposition party of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar are disputing, while challenging the victory of Buhari in the last Presidential elections.
Aside from the statement made by Mr Henry Adewumi, two witnesses, and Mr Abba Kyari who is an aide to the President, and two former secondary school mates testified that the President did to obtained Cambridge University West Africa Examination Certificate in 1961. The case is still on going, as Nigerians reacts to the WAEC saga.
