Empire cast are urging Fox network to recall Jussie Smollett

Empire cast are asking for the return of their colleague, Jussie Smollett to the continue shooting with them after he was rumoured to have been axed from the popular Television series.

According to the report by TMZ, the Empire cast are going against the plan of Fox to shut down the character played by Jussie Smollett, as they move to lobby top executives for his return.

The TMZ report said that the Empire Cast who are moving for the recalling of Jussie Smollett who still has a case to answer on his alleged hoax homophobic and racial attack, are Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard.

The two feel that Jussie Smollett deserves a fair shake, and that should include a full return to the show.

According to our earlier report, Fox network had announced that: “By mutual agreement, the studio has negotiated an extension to Jussie Smollett’s option for season six, but at this time there are no plans for the character of Jamal to return to ‘Empire'” the statement had said.

Jussie Smollett was suspended from the fifth season’s final two episodes with the producers saying at the time, “While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays out. We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of ‘Jamal’ from the final two episodes of the season.” they had said then during his court case, which has been discharged.

TMZ also reported that the Empire Cast pushing for the return of Smollett, are doing so, because they feel that the Jamal character in the series, was an incredibly important part of the show, and they don’t feel his return will hurt ratings. In one of the final episodes of season 5, Jussie’s character, Jamal, got married in the first gay, black wedding on primetime TV.

Although no official statement has been issued on this latest development, we know from the earlier statement issued by Fox network, that they are still waiting to see how the case plays out before making a final decision on his future with the show.
