Oba Saheed Elegushi celebrates his 9th Coronation anniversary today Saturday 27th 2019, as the Oba early on Saturday morning took to his Instagram to share some new photos to usher in the special day. Since his post, there has been an outpouring of congratulatory messages saluting the youngest Oba in Lagos on clocking another year on the throne.
Oba Saheed Elegushi is celebrating his 9th anniversary as Oba, as he has been on the throne as Oba of the Great Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom since 2010 after he succeeded his late father whom he shares same birthday date with in 2009.
Oba Saheed Elegushi is still just 43, and someone who is well educated. He had his secondary school education at the Methodist Boys’ High School, Lagos between 1988 and 1994.
After this, he proceeded to the Lagos State University, Ojo Campus around 1995 and 2000 bagging a Second Class Honourary Degree in Economics.
Oba Saheed Elegushi also acquired a Masters Degree in Economics at the Lagos State University, Ojo Campus between 2002 and 2003.
His father died in 2009, and he beats others to be crowned the next Oba…
Amidst the felicitations on adding another year on the throne, nobody was in more jubilant mood than the Oba himself for obvious reasons, as he took to his Instagram to pray for his Kingdom, Lagos State and Nigeria. He said:
“Today as we mark the 9th year Anniversary of my Coronation, I ask you all, whatever your religion, to pray for me and The Great Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom.
That the Almighty God would continue to give me wisdom and strength to carry out the promises that I need for our Great Kingdom and Nigeria.
Throughout today- this memorable day, I have been uplifted and sustained by the knowledge that your thoughts and prayers have been with me.
I have been aware all the time that my people, spread far and wide, were united nine years ago to support me in the task to which I have now been dedicated with such solemnity.
Therefore I am sure that this, my 9th year Coronation anniversary, is not the symbol of a power and a splendour that are gone but a declaration of our hopes for the future, and for the years I may, by
God’s Grace and Mercy, be given to reign and serve you as your Oba.
