One of Nigeria’s billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Femi Otedola presents a cheque to former Super Eagles Coach, Christian Chukwu, as he fulfils his earlier pledge to cater for the medical bill of ex-Eagles captain and legend.

Femi Otedola presents the cheque to Christian Chukwu through the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Mr Amaju Pinnick, who was accompanied by some officials of the NFF, and the Governor of Enugu State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The details of the cheque presented to Christian Chukwu at his home was not made known, but from our last report, it was said that he needed the sum of $50,000 for his medical treatment abroad.

Femi Otedola keeps coming to the rescue of Nigerians in need, as this will not be the first time he will be supporting or taking over all medical bills of those that are in need and have been brought to his attention.

From us here, we want to say a big thank you to him.

Meanwhile, Femi Otedola presents the cheque, showing this photo where Christian Chukwu was being presented with his cheque by NFF President, Amaju Pinnick. He captioned the photo with these words:

“Proud to support Christian Chukwu, former coach of the Super Eagles with his medical bills. Glad he can now battle his illness… Thank you to the Governor of Enugu state, Amaju Pinnick, the chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Onochie Anibeze for presenting the cheque on my behalf. ? … F.Ote?”

Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick had some weeks back, mandated the Chairman of Enugu State Football Association and Member of the NFF Executive Committee, Hon. Chidi Ofo Okenwa to pay a visit to the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations –winning team captain (Christian Chukwu) and get the details of his challenges and what needs to be done to return him to good health.  He was quoted to have said:

“I am not in Nigeria presently but I have asked the NFF Acting President, Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi to take full charge and ensure that this matter is treated promptly.

It was for this kind of development that I spoke about the welfare foundation for our legends at the 2nd AITEO-NFF Awards in Lagos on 1st April 2019.

The NFF would always be there to lend support to our legends in their hour of need,” Pinnick said.

The NFF with this new development, we do not know what they are doing or have done on their side to support Chukwu, but we promise to bring you any new development after today.
