Mr Bolaji Amusan known better in the Yoruba movie Industry as Mr Latin has debunked the rumour that has been going around on the death of Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe. The veteran actor who is also the National President, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), disclosed this in a short video he posted online, calling the rumour of the purported death of Baba Suwe as fake News, and should be disregarded.
Mr Latin who appeared to be on location on the video he shared online, said such rumours are wicked, as Baba Suwe is alive hale and healthy. He stated further that the comedian is already in the United States of American where he has gone for further treatment, after his discharge from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Idi Araba, Lagos, a few weeks back.
Baba Suwe without a doubt, is one of those that can be regarded as father and one of the pioneers of comedy in Nigeria, with the likes of the Late Baba Sala and others.
The Federal Government some weeks back had ordered full support to Baba Suwe, after an appeal to the Federal Government to foot his medical bill. He was also promised a first-class treatment by the Federal Government at LUTH, but what we do not know is who is footing this foreign medical trip, as we wish him a quick recovery.
