The AFCON draws for Egypt 2019 tournament have been concluded, as Nigeria somehow on paper gets an easy draws, while South Africa and Ghana were not that lucky.
Nigeria will play the likes of Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi in what have been seen as an easy group for the three-time African Champions by many, and are expected to top and advance from the group.
The AFCON draws were concluded a few minutes ago in Egypt, as for the first time in the history of the tournament, we will be having a total of 24 teams battling it out for the AFCON trophy come June in Egypt.
Unlike the previous ones, this AFCON which will be hosted by Egypt, the home of Mo Salah, will see a second stage games instead of the quarter finals like we have been used to. Another change in the competition is that it is being played in June rather than the traditional January.
I must say kudos to CAF for this new changes that will surely help African players, and their European club sides.
Groups D and F will be an interesting ones to watch and we cannot wait for kickoff!
