The Sundanese Military through the Minister of Defense, Mohammed Ahmed Ibn Awaf has confirmed the arrest and detention of President Omar Al-Bashir on Thursday morning, while a State of Emergency has been declared in the country.
According to a the statement released some few hours ago by the Sundan State TV, the Defense Minister Awad Awad Mohammed Ahmed Ibn Awaf announced on Sunday that President Omar al-Bashir was removed from power and arrested and held in a safe place.
The State TV said the Military gave this statement on Thursday, while they have also moved for the formation of a transitional military council for two years and the disruption of the transitional constitution for 2005, and declaring a state of emergency for three months and a curfew for one month from 10 pm to 4 am
The Military also announced the immediate closure of the airspace and crossings for 24 hours, in addition to resolving the institution of the presidency and the Council of Ministers and the Parliament and the Council of State and State governments and their legislative councils and assigning the governors to carry out tasks and assigning the agents of ministries to run the wheel.

The statement stressed the continuation of work in the judiciary, the prosecution, the constitutional court, the embassies of Sudan abroad, diplomatic missions, organizations and bodies, and pledged to preserve the dignity of human rights. He declared a comprehensive cease-fire and called on the armed movements to join the march of government in the country and stressed the commitment of the military council to preserve public life without exclusion.
The Military stressed the Council’s keenness to create a climate for the peaceful transfer of power, building political parties, holding free and fair elections by the end of the interim period and establishing a permanent constitution for the country. He also affirmed the commitment to international treaties and conventions, good neighbourliness and balanced international relations.
The head of the military council announced a number of measures related to the security of military units, bridges, installations and services of all kinds, and renewed responsibility and concern for the safety of citizens and the homeland, calling on citizens to endure these strict security measures and maintain calm and public conditions and prevent evasion.
