Nigeria’s billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola has promised to take over the medical bills of Ex-Super Eagles of Nigeria National team coach, Christian Chukwu after the news broke of his ill-health.
Coach Christian Chukwu who is the Technical Adviser of Enugu Rangers Football club, was reported to have fallen seriously ill and finding it difficult meeting up with his medical bills which is about $50,000,while still on treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the United States.
The issue of Christian Chukwu since on Sunday when we first broke the news of his ill-health and struggle he is facing to offset his bills, has generated lot of mixed reactions.
While others are in shock that the man that was once paid in millions of naira every month could not pay his own medical bills, others see the situation differently, saying the coach might have used the money for his medical bills and family, and could only be asking for assistant.
The matter is very clear, what ever it was he used his money for, it is his money and we cannot Judge him. The most important thing here is, he needed help and he has gotten one, and yet again from a kind-hearted Nigerian who has always come through for most Nigerians in difficult situation such as this…Femi Otedola.
The Nigeria Football Federation had also released a Statement promising to pay the medical bills of the Ex-Super Eagles of Nigeria coach. The President Ahmaju Pinnck had said this:
“I am not in Nigeria presently but I have asked the NFF Acting President, Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi to take full charge and ensure that this matter is treated promptly.
It was for this kind of development that I spoke about the welfare foundation for our legends at the 2nd AITEO-NFF Awards in Lagos on 1st April 2019.
The NFF would always be there to lend support to our legends in their hour of need,” Pinnick said.
We wish him a successful medical treatment abroad and a big thank you once again to Chief Otedola….
