The Los Angeles Police has identified one Eric Holder as the shooter of Grammy-nominated rapper, Nipsey Hussle on Sunday.

LAPD used surveillance video and social media posts by witnesses to help identify the suspect Eric Holder who was shown pulling the trigger on the activist and entrepreneur in front of his Los Angeles clothing store on Sunday afternoon.

Police named 29-year-old Eric Holder as a suspect in the shooting and asked for the public’s help in locating him. The Police said:

On March 31, 2019 around 3:20 p.m. three male adults were standing in front of a business in a strip mall in the 3400 block of West Slauson Blvd. The suspect walked up to the men and fired numerous shots at them. The victims were struck and fell to the ground,” the statement read.

“The suspect ran southbound through an adjacent valley to a waiting vehicle. The suspect entered the passenger side of the vehicle and fled the area. The vehicle is a 2016 Chevy Cruze, white four doors, CA license plate 7RJD742. The vehicle was driven by an unidentified female.”

Two victims were transported to local hospitals and one refused medical treatment at the scene. One victim, Ermias Asghedom, known as Nipsey Hussle, died as a result of the gunshot wounds he sustained.”

“Detectives have worked tirelessly and are now asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect in this case.”

According to ABC News, the Los Angeles Police Department did not say if Holder had any known ties to Hussle, but law enforcement sources previously told the shooting appeared to have been targeted and personal based on how it was carried out.

Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, was shot multiple times in the head and torso while standing outside of his shop near LA’s Crenshaw District, where he grew up, around 3:20 p.m. local time, authorities said.

The 33-year-old rapper was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died. A second gunshot victim was taken to the hospital and was listed in stable condition, and a third man was wounded but refused medical attention, police said.

A couple of hours before he died, Hussle tweeted, “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”
