According to reports, some unidentified gunmen numbering about 20 have invaded a polling unit in Ubima area of Rivers State, carting away ballot boxes in the polling unit.
The report suggest that the gunmen invaded the unit with dangerous weapons, shooting sporadically, carting away ballot boxes, looting and robbing electoral officers, while the National Youth Service Corps members working as ad hoc staff in Ward 2 Unit 8 in Ubima escaped unhurt.
The Polling Unit in Ubima which is located in Ikwere Local Government area of Rivers State, is the hometown of the immediate past Governor of the State, and now Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi.
As at the time of this report, the unit is deserted, everyone has scampered for safety.
