The Supreme Court a few hours ago, struck out the Appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress, APC Rivers, in its aim to present candidates for the forthcoming elections in Rivers State.
The Apex Court on Tuesday struck out the appeal filed by the party challenging the judgment of a High Court in Rivers State which barred APC Rivers from conducting any primaries in the state to nominate candidates for 2019 elections.
The Supreme Court judgement comes barely one week after the same court stopped the APC Rivers from fielding candidates in all elections in the state.
APC Rivers State and the National chapter were in support of Mr Tonye Cole’s candidature for the governorship election against that of Senator Magnus Abe whose group rejected the choice of Cole.
This judgement is clearly not a good one for both Rotimi Amaechi and Tonye Cole and even the entire APC in the State, as PDP could see the judgement as a walkover for them in the forthcoming elections.
