Ana de Armas seems to be looking ahead of the new year, as a few hours, after the news broke that she and Ben Affleck have called off their relationship, the actress made a major change to her look, signally a fresh start to her new single life.
According to reports by Pagesix, Ana De Armas has been spending the past several weeks in her native Cuba.
Appearing in a video message for friend Claudia Muma on Jan. 17, she showed off her chin-length bob and bangs in a nearly-black hue, the outlet reports.
It’s unclear when exactly Armas decided on the big chop, but in light of news that the actress split from boyfriend Ben Affleck, some fans say it was an indication things were going south for the couple.
“Convinced that Ben Affleck & Ana de Armas have broken up because she went to stay with family in Cuba and got bangs. It’s been a solid 2 weeks without a paparazzi picture together,” one person tweeted on Jan. 10, before news of the breakup came to light.
“Did Ana De Armas and Ben Affleck break up…Ana got that post-break up haircut too,” another said on Jan. 2.
Even the now-infamous Ana de Armas Updates Twitter account predicted the new haircut would symbolize “change for 2021.”
A source told Page Six that Armas and Affleck, 48, ended their relationship so the latter can spend more time with his children — Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and 8-year-old Samuel — whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner while Armas is in a “different place in her life.”
