The politics in Ogun State has taken a new turn, as a member of the Federal House Representatives and factional Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Hon Adekunle Akinlade has dumped the APC for the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
Hon Adekunle Akinlade is the Governorship candidate fully backed by Governor Ibekunle Amosun, as against the APC National Working Committee’s choice, and since the Party Leadership has submitted the name of the candidate they said won the Primary elections for the Governorship ticket, they have decided to seek to fly the flag of another party.
Hon Adekunle Akinlade’s defection is coming after the Muhammad Ndabawa-led APC electoral committee in October, declared Dapo Abiodun winner of the direct governorship primary of Ogun APC for the 2019 gubernatorial election as against the wish of Governor Ibekunle Amosun.
…What we do not know now is whether Governor Ibikunle Amosun will also decamp, or remain in APC and work against the party in 2019, so as to have Hon Adekunle Akinlade succeeds him as Governor in 2019.
