The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, Senator Shehu Sani is alleged to have dumped the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a few hours ago.
Although Senator Shehu Sani is yet to make an official statement as regarding this new development, sources said that the Senator took the decision to dump the Political party in protest, after it was alleged that his APC Senatorial automatic ticket was withdrawn from him by the National Chairman of the Party, Adams Oshiohmole.
Senator Shehu Sani was given an automatic ticket by the party’s National Working Committee, and after some consultations with the Governor of Kaduna State and some interested parties, the ticket was allegedly withdrawn and a Senatorial primary held without the Senator.
The primary that was held saw Mr. Uba Sani, pulling a total vote of 2,088 votes, as against Shehu Sani’s 15 votes.
Other aspirants, Usman Ibrahim, got 129 votes, a former Senator, General Sani Saleh got 55 votes, while another contestant, Shamsudeen Shehu, got six votes respectively.
