Derby County and Frank Lampard a few hours ago recorded their biggest win as a club and also as a manager, beating Manchester United at Old Trafford 7-8 on a penalty shoot-out in the Carabao cup.

This result means Manchester United are out of the Carabao cup competition and are recording another poor result at home to a lower league side in less than a week. It was Wolves over the weekend, drawing against a newly promoted side, after a very hyped performance against a poor and inexperienced side in Young Boys at the Champions League.

The game got to penalties after both teams played out a 2-2 draw after 90+minutes taking the game to penalties. It was the Miss from Jones that gave the visitors the deserved win, as they played far better than the Jose Mourinho’s side.

Derby County manager Frank Lampard returning to the Old Trafford as a manager and also facing his former coach Jose Mourinho, the pressure was on him to prove himself, and that he did and also in a way nobody expected.

His team showed class, teamwork and taught the Premier League side and Jose Mourinho how football should be played.

Lampard who a few days ago welcome his third but first child with a new wife is receiving other rounds of congratulatory messages after the win and a well-deserved one over his former coach.

After the game, the Derby manager Lampard speaking to the press said he is in shock and cannot believe it. He said:

“I’m shell shocked. What a performance. To go down early at Old Trafford and play as well as they did was superb. We had the personality to take penalties and play the way we did. I am a proud manager.

“It was the easiest selection I have had, the players were superb against Brentford and they deserved the chance to play at Old Trafford. I wanted to bring a team who could really compete. I am so proud of them.

“I am trying to build a group to be successful and nights like this are incredible. To go against world-class players and play that way, it’s right up there.

“Harry Wilson does do that in training, he proved me wrong as I thought it was too far out. Both he and Mason Mount are going to go a long way.”

Old Trafford emptied in no time as Manchester United fans booed off their manager who stylishly escorted himself off the pitch holding to Phil Jones who had just missed a spot kick against Derby County

Since the final result, fans all over the world are now calling for the sack of the Portuguese manager who seem to be struggling, especially at home.
…we are waiting to see how Jose turns things around for good…
