Melaye has been crowned as the most “outstanding lawmaker” of the year 2018 by Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh on Friday in Abuja.
The Lawmaker Senator Dino Melaye who received the award at the Goodwill Ambassador award night, put up the photo on his social media page praising the actress for the award.
Senator Dino Melaye who is a Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District has in the last few months, been in and out of one political drama or the other.
The controversial Senator clearly enjoyed receiving the award, as he put up the award with this caption:
“Actress Tonto Dike decorate me as Most outstanding Lawmaker of the year at The Goodwill Ambassador Award 2018.” He said.
Tonto Dikeh who also is another controversial actress was pictured with her exposed back and tattooed while presenting the award to the Senator at the award night.
Dino Melaye who is receiving the award has had some dramatic three years plus as a Senator in the National Assembly, as Nigerians are still looking to know what might have inspired the organizers to give out such an award to Senator Dino Melaye.
This year alone Dino has had issues with the Nigerian Police twice, also another one with the Governor of his State Governor Bello which led to his failed recalling process. He dumped his political party of All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) where he hope to seek a reelection come 2019.
This will not be the first time a Lawmaker will be receiving an award, especially from the entertainment industry as it is now becoming a norm for individuals or organizations to honour politicians regardless of public perceptions about such an individual.
Senator Dino Melaye who seems to be the only one in PDP that is not vying to become Nigeria’s President come 2019, have a good relationship with those in the entertainment industry and this is one of the dividends of being friends with them.
