Ethan Ampadu has penned a new five-year contract with Chelsea, as the 18-year old versatile player looks to continue his career as a footballer with the London club.

Ethan Ampadu who already made his International debut with Wales, ditched all the interested clubs asking for his signature, even Arsenal where his father Mr. Ampadu is a youth coach to join Chelsea 2017 from Exeter city. He has since been with with the senior team, and although he has featured in some of Chelsea’s games for the senior side, he is yet to make his debut under the new manager, Maurizio Sarri.

Ethan Ampudu was born in 2000, turned 18 last week, and has played for both the English and Wales youth teams and presently with Wales senior side.

The defender who was delighted to be signing a new long-term deal, after signing had this to say:
‘I’m really proud and happy. I’m looking forward to the next five years and all I have got to do now is continue to work hard, and hopefully good things will happen.’

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added:
‘Ethan Ampadu has shown great potential and unbelievable maturity since arriving at Chelsea a year ago. In this short time he convinced a lot of people with his exceptional quality and mentality and we look forward to watching him develop into a key player for the club over the coming years.’

He has since traveled with the team to Greece for their Europa cup game on Thursday. He also made his senior debut in a Carabao Cup third round win against Nottingham Forest at the Bridge.

According to his club Chelsea who were delighted he is signing a new contract, said Ethan Ampadu appeared in four more cup games after that in 2017/18, also playing in the Academy sides’ biggest fixtures before a serious injury put an early end to what had been a fantastic first season at Chelsea.
