Troops neutralized five Boko Haram terrorists recovers weapons

Boko Haram terrorists numbering about five, have been neutralized by Troops of 21-Special Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army deployed under the operation Lafiya Dole, as the Nigeria Army continues to record more success stories in the fight to rid the dreaded group from the North East.

The Nigerian troops in a statement released by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army Brig. Gen. Texas Chukwu on Tuesday, said the joint trans-border operation of Nigerian and Cameroonian troops encountered the Boko Haram terrorists in the border villages of Yabiri Kote and Bula Dadobe of Bama Local Government Areal of Borno State.
According to Brig. Gen. Texas, the terrorists were neutralized by the troops and weapons and some items recovered from them. Some of the things recovered were listed as:
a. 3 AK 47 rifles.
b. Two Improvised Explosive Device ( IED) Shells.
c. One primed Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Belt.
d. Two motorcycles.
e. Eight bicycles.
f. Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Vest.
g. One Boko Haram flag.
The statement by the Nigerian Army reads:

Troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade deployed in Operation LAFIYA DOLE, in a joint trans-border operation with troops of the Cameroonian Defence Forces, neutralised five (5) Boko Haram Terrorists in the border villages of Yabiri Kote and Bula Dadobe of Bama LGA Borno State.

The joint operations, “Operation RAINBOW 15” which was conducted from 15 -16 Sept 2018, came on the heels of the discovery of makeshift bases, established by the terrorists in Yabiri Kote and Bula Dadode from where they launched attacks on villages in Cameroon and Nigeria.

During the joint trans- border operations, the gallant troops recovered some items from the terrorists.
The items include:
a. 3 AK 47 rifles.
b. Two Improvised Explosive Device ( IED) Shells.
c. One primed Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Belt.
d. Two motorcycles.
e. Eight bicycles.
f. Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Vest.
g. One Boko Haram terrorists flag.
5. The trans-border operations have successfully cleared the insurgents from the general area of Kote Kura.
Members of the general public are advised to report any suspicious movements or activities to the law enforcement agents for prompt action.
