Nomination and interest form bought by National Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN) on behave of the President, have been submitted in person by President Muhammadu Buhari himself a few hours ago, at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Headquarters in Abuja.
The president who arrived the national secretariat of the party on Wednesday at about 3:45p.m, said he is seeking re-election to continue serving the people to the best of his ability. He was accompanied by some of his cabinet members and Governors as he submits his nomination and interest forms to the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomohle.
Those that were with the President were, National Secretary Alhaji Mai Malan Buni, Senator Lawan Shuaibu and majority leaders of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawan.
The President after submitting his nomination and interest forms was presented with a digitized APC membership card from the National Chairman of APC Comrade Adams Oshiomohle.
President Muhammadu Buhari after submitting his form, gave a small speech, saying:
“I am here in person among friends and colleagues to put my name forward to my party the All Progressive Congress, seeking nomination to contest the presidential election next year.
“Fellow party members I am taking this step with all humility , sense of responsibility and I am the unquestionable desire to serve the interest of all Nigerians I’m really grateful to dozens of organsiations who came together and contributed funds to purchase these forms. I assure them and the rest of Nigerians that if nominated and if elected I shall continue to serve you to the best of my ability.”
“Today I put my name forward to my party, the All Progressives Congress, seeking nomination to contest the Presidential Elections next year. I assure party members and all Nigerians that, if nominated and if elected, I shall continue to serve you to the best of my ability.” He said.
President Muhammadu Buhari also appealed to party members, saying:
Let me today appeal to party members not to be complacent but to prepare, strategize and win in 2019 elections.
We must not allow those who brought the country to its knees from 1999 to 2015 to come and take us back.”
