Didier Drogba has been named as an ambassador of English Premier League club side, Chelsea as the club unveiled him under the Yokohama brand yesterday.

Didier Drogba who shared the news a few hours ago on his social media page said it was with great joy and pleasure that he was sharing this good news with his fans and family.

He said it is great being called back to work for the team again, as there is nothing like going back and adding value to the Club again.

The ex Chelsea striker Didier Drogba shared the good news while posing for a photo shoot with Yokohama tyres.

The Ivorian while responding to a comment by one of his friends who is also a former Manchester United and French defender, Patrice Evra attributed his endorsement deal by Chelsea and Yokohama, said the deal came as a result of his 20-years of professionalism, and respect to the team and everybody irrespective of who they are.

Didier Drogba joined Chelsea in 2004 for a club record fee, and became club legend after his spot kick helped the club to win their first Champions League Trophy in 2012.

He also won four English Premier league titles with the club, FA cup and League Cup, before leaving the club for China, then Turkey and back again at Chelsea, before leaving for the United States.

Didier Drogba also has won the African football of the years award.

Taking to his social media page to make the announcement, he said:

“Proud to be working again with @chelseafc as ambassador for @yokohamachelseafc  #yokohama#chelseafc”

While the likes of Frank Lampard and John Terry are eying the managerial role, especially Frank Lampard who has already taken a role as manager, Didier Drogba is not looking like the one interested in managerial job.

He also has a foundation back in his home country where he gives back to his community. Congratulations to him on his new endorsement deal…
