Manchester City has just confirmed our fears, as the club just released a statement saying Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will be out for three months after suffering an injury in training on Wednesday.

The statement also confirms our earlier report on the state of the midfielder’s injury, as they confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne suffered a lateral collateral ligament-lesion in his right knee, and he is expected to be out for around three months.
This is no doubt a huge blow to Manchester City as a club, and Pep Guardiola who has already kicked started his title defense with a win over one of the possible title contenders Arsenal, and De Bruyne who came in from the bench in that game, and one of the key players in their record-breaking season last time,  will not be available for them till November.

Kevin De Bruyne will now miss some of the big games, and some of these games are:
Liverpool
Tottenham
Manchester United
He should be back when they take on Chelsea in December, and Manchester United is also likely for him to be back before then, given his work rate and he loves to be in these big games. This could be the only motivation for his quick recovery since no surgery is required.

The club statement confirming the injury a few minutes ago reads:
“We can confirm @DeBruyneKev has suffered a lateral collateral ligament (LCL) lesion in his right knee.

No surgery is required, and the midfielder is expected to be out for around three months.

Get well soon, KDB! #”

Since the transfer window is closed in England, it is now time for the likes of IIkay Gundogan, David Silva, or even Portugues Bernardo Silva who can play in that space to step up for the duration of his injury. Also, they are lucky to have signed Algerian, Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, which could give hope to Pep, as they wait for the quick return of Kevin.
