English Premier League side Chelsea a few hours ago, unveiled former Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri as their new manager, after the sacking of Antonio Conte last Friday.
The Club shared a photo of the manager at the Stamford Bridge ground, holding on to the Club’s Jersey, looking all happy and ready for his new challenge as Chelsea’s manager.
The Italian whose intelligence as a football coach transformed Napoli challenging the dominance of Juventus in the Serie A where Napoli narrowly missed the title with just 4-points (91-points to Juventus’s (5-points). He was able to do this with his playing style which is almost like that of Conte, but with a more possession and attacking kind of play.
Having come that far, he will be looking to win his first ever trophy since becoming a football manager and Chelsea could give him that.
The 53-year-old who signed a 3-year contract was unveiled immediately after his press conference, saying he is happy to be here at Chelsea and hopes to implement his footballing philosophy at Chelsea as quickly as possible, and he wants to make his side’s style of play fun to watch for our supporters.
But will Sarri be successful as Conte, giving that he is yet to win a trophy as a manager?
