Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has commended the President of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari on his declaration of June 12 as the new Democracy day celebration in Nigeria, calls it a great news.
The Peoples Democratic Party Chieftain while reacting to the move, praise the President saying it was long overdue.
He said he was surprised by the gesture coming from President Buhari while also praising him for the move. He said:
I commend @MBuhari for announcing June 12th as our new Democracy Day. This is long overdue and I am pleasantly surprised.I also commend him for honoring Chief MKO Abiola, the winner of the June 12th 1993 presidential election, with the posthumus award of GCON.This is great news!
The praises coming from Chief Femi Fani-Kayode towards President Buhari on his Declaration of June 12 as the new Democracy day, might have surprised many, given that Fani-Kayode is seen by many Nigerians as the man that does not see anything good from the President.
Also, for him commending the President while other opposition members are condemning the President, saying it was more of a political move rather than a kind gesture from the President, shows a gentleman in him.
This move from him given that he is from the opposition party of the Peoples Democratic Party clearly shows, the man tells it as it is, and will give credit when he feels it is right, and that the President has earned it. This is commendable from Chief Femi Fani Kayode.
