The Nigerian entertainment Industry especially the music industry has had so much impact on the African continent and blacks around the world that the sporting world are now looking at the industry as a major market to promote sport, especially football.
The industry is so big now that even our National team is being impacted heavily in a positive way, as the recent Nike record on our National team Jersey sales which was over 3million in less than 20minutes is a testament to that fact..
While some might argue that the recent achievement recorded by Nike in the sales of Super Eagles of Nigeria Jerseys is as a result of them being a genius in their marketing strategy, we cannot rule out the influence of the music Industry on that sales.
For example, the bringing of Wizkid on the Jersey launch had so much impact on the numbers recorded by Nike, and now the world are talking about Nigeria on a positive level, because of the entertainment industry.

While the game between England and Nigeria might have come and gone, the Wembley scene yesterday witnessed a huge turnout mostly Nigerians. Nigeria and African celebrities were not left out, as they were all on ground to cheer Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Though Nigeria lost the game by a slim margin, we hold our heads high as we go into Russia knowing we will do better. See some of the photos of celebrities that were at the game:
