The President of United State, President Donald Trump is to finally meet up with North Korean Leader, Kim Jong Un, weeks after his initial cancellation of the most talked about meeting.
This is coming after he received a prominent member of the Kim Jong Un led administration, Mr Kim Yong Chol, who is also a former North Korean military intelligence chief and one of leader Kim Jong Un’s closest aides.
The two leaders who have traded strong words over North Korea nuclear programme and whose ‘nuclear button is the biggest’. They even went as far as threatening an attack, and a likelihood of war between the North and the US together with its allies, are now to go ahead with the June 12th date for the much-anticipated talks.
Though the talks will centre mostly on North Korea’s denuclearization, what we do not know yet is what are the conditions being put on the table for North Korea and Kim, if eventually he did yield on denuclearization, which has a different meaning in the US and North Korea.
The President while confirming this latest development, praised his Secretary of State Mr Mike Pompeo for his efforts since taking office, while also saying Kim is doing the right thing for returning to the negotiation table, as he took to his twitter to say:
“We’ll be meeting on June 12th in Singapore,”
