Headies Awards 2018: See All The Winners, As Mayorkun Wins Next Rated

Image: Singer, Mayorkun as Headies Next rated 2018

This year’s Headies award has come and gone, with the likes of Davido and Wizkid the usual suspects carting home the key awards in the categories they were nominated for. But the most important award in the history of the Headies, which is the ‘Next Rated Award’ was won by Mayorkun from the camp of Davido.

For the ladies, Simi was also there to represent the ladies, as she was also one of the top winners at last night’s event, which is not a surprise, given all her work this year. Also, Tiwa Savage got herself an award for her collaborations this year.

The award night which started with a short documentary on how the Headies started with Ayo Animashaun and his crew, to the nominee’s party in Abuja, before the award proper, which was hosted by the likes of Ebuka, Bovi and Sheyi Shay, was much better organised, unlike the previous ones.

The sound and live band did it for me. Though there was some minor drama here and there, which is ‘normal’ in such big award nights, in all, it was a huge success and kudos to the organisers. Here is the list of winners:

Song of the year – Davido
