The United State Of America and President Trump have finalized an agreement for possible diplomatic talks with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un. This is coming after a series of negotiations between United State-China-South Korea and North Korea to ease tension in the Korean peninsula.
The news came in after the white house released a photo via a Twitter handle of the newly-confirmed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who was shown shaking hands with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
According to CNN report, this is the first official assignment of Mr Pompeo after he had earlier gone to Pyongyang over Easter weekend as President Trump’s envoy to lay the groundwork for direct talks between Trump and Kim. So, in a way, this meeting is a follow up to that meeting, and of the most important one to come, which is President Trump meeting with the young Korean Leader, Kim Jong Un.
Nothing much has been said as regarding official statement on it, but the President of the United State is happy and trust the new Secretary general to do a fantastic job like he is already doing. It is also yet to be known what the North Korean Leader will be asking for in return, as he meets President Trump in weeks to come.
