Chelsea and Spanish defender Marcos Alonso have been banned for three games by English Premier League FA after a review found he had committed violent conduct towards Southampton’s Shane Long in a game which Chelsea came from two goals down to win 2-4. Though the officiating referee did not spot the incident, a replay showed the Chelsea fullback left his boot on the Southampton striker, Shane Lone.
This is definitely not the news both Chelsea and Alonso needs at this moments as there are important games which Chelsea would need the Spanish and PFA team of the year could help win for the former Champions. The suspension now means Alonso will miss:
We wait to see how Antonio Conte line up without Alonso at the back, starting from tonight’s game against a hard fighting Burnley team.
