The body of late French police officer Lt. Col. Arnaud Beltrame has finally been laid to rest in a State burial befitting of a hero. The officer who gave up his life in a bid to end the faceoff between the French Police and a terrorist Hostage taker in a local supermarket was yesterday honoured by the French President Emmanuel Macron, as he was called a hero while full state burial was carried out to honour his bravery and ultimate sacrifice to keep the country safe.

According to CNN report, Col. Arnaud Beltrame, who was before his death aged 45, was shot in the neck Friday after offering to take the place of a woman during a gunman’s assault on the Super U supermarket in Trèbes. The report went further to suggest that the French Police on the scene found two unexploded homemade bombs, a 7.65 mm pistol and a hunting knife when they searched the market after the attack, a French judicial source. Investigation is still ongoing, as Police hope to put things right but more cautious on their duties.
