The wife of the President Mrs Aisha Buhari was earlier today awarded the ‘Personality of the year award for 2017 by Vanguard Newspaper. The first lady who herself was surprised to have been honoured with the award, shared the photos of her receiving the award from Vanguard officials in Abuja. The First lady is being given the award for her ‘pro-poor’ programmes she has embarked upon since assuming office as the first lady around the country. Mrs Aisha Buhari is well known for her bluntness and someone who will not hesitate to call anybody out if she feels such a person is not doing what he or she is supposed to be doing, and examples are bound.
She has championed a lot of poverty alleviation pet projects, health care and women empowerment, in collaboration with all other wives of State Governors, not to forget the wives of the Vice President and the Senate President.All these activities all over the country, an initiatives Vanguard Newspaper found worthy to be honoured, in a way of this recognition.
