British and world Super Model, Naomi Campbell has just been named Fashion Icon by Council of Fashion Designers of America for 2018. The British supermodel who shared the good news on her social media page thanked the Council for finding her worthy of the award of a Fashion Icon. This will not be the first time the Super Model will be winning such an award, as the 47year old have been a recipient of numerous fashion and none-fashion awards throughout her career as a model and Philanthropist. But she seems to have appreciated this more, as her message on her Instagram page, explains it more.

After dominating the fashion scene for so many decades with her stunning beauty and opening doors for so many girls who looked up to her and wanting to be a walk the fashion runway, she sure deserved the honourary award as a fashion Icon.
Though she has battled many law cases, involved in some bad habits which I am sure looking back now she is not proud of, but as a changed person Naomi Campbell deserved more than the award as her role as a role model to young girls especially young black girls growing up in a society that are being judge based on the colour of their skin rather than their abilities, she deserves more.
Some might want to say she was fortunate, but searching through her journey on how she started, her background and the role her mother played in her life, one can simply say, her journey to the runway and to become the most sort after model in the fashion world was never luck or a situation of being fortunate, as she worked her way up to be what she is today, a Supermodel and a Fashion Icon.
