The official Jersey sponsors of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Nike, earlier today, unveiled the newly designed kits for Russia 2018 FIFA world Cup. The Eagles who were the first team in Africa to qualify for the FIFA major event for the year, will be looking to be the first African team to win the world cup for the first time; or surpass the country’s achievement in 1994 world cup.
The USA 94 world cup, has been tagged our best ever performance since appearing at the world cup, and the new Jersey designs adopted the design of that year.
The new kit which will be the first for Nike since they returned to sponsorship deal with the Nigeria Football Federation, has been described as a ‘wonderful piece of art’, borrowing from the designs of USA 1994 world cup jerseys, which also was designed by Nike.
The new jerseys are a combination of old and new designs as Nike look to honour those years teams under their sponsorship had their best performance at the world cup, dating back decades.
The likes of Alex Iwobi, Sophia Omidiji and Mikel Obi alongside other models were on ground for the unveiling of the new kits in London earlier today.
