A man has been nabbed in Lagos for allegedly pirating the newly premiered and fans’ favourite, Nollywood movie, Jagun Jagun.
Popular Nigerian film director and producer and the man behind the latest Netflix Nollywood and Yoruba movie hit, Femi Adebayo revealed this on a social media post on Tuesday 22nd August 2023.
Femi Adebayo while posting anti-piracy warming MESSAGE on his latest released movie Jagun Jagun, took to his official social media handle on Tuesday and posted photos of the already arrested suspected pirate of his movie with a strong message saying:
“*URGENT: Anti-Piracy Warning!*
Piracy is a criminal act that threatens the very essence of our creative industry.
Persons have already begun pirating this labour of love. Some have been apprehended like in the photo, and we’re relentlessly pursuing others and bring them to book!
Our search includes persons downloading the movie from unauthorized sites, including telegram groups!
These actions are a grave impediment to Nollywood’s rightful place in the entertainment industry.
If you possess any information about individuals involved in producing or distributing pirated copies of Jagun Jagun, I implore you to share it with us immediately via DM or email.
We really have to protect Nollywood’s future and support legitimate creators,” his message reads.
The Movie Jagun Jagun:
Femi Adebayo, in a recent interview, stated that the latest statistics shows that the movie is number 5 in Netflix’s global ranking for non-English film.
Jagun Jagun (The Warrior) is a blockbuster movie produced by Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo Salami, and Euphoria360 Media. It was directed by Adebayo Tijani and Femi’s younger brother, Tope Adebayo Salami.
The film stars Femi Adebayo Salami, his father Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Yinka Quadri, Dele Odule, Peju Ogunmola, Lateef Adedimeji, Bimbo Ademoye, Faithia Balogun, skitmaker Mr Macaroni, Bukunmi Oluwasina, Ibrahim Yekini, and Muyiwa Ademola, among others.
The movie tells the story of a warlord, Ogundiji (Femi Adebayo Salami), who begins to feel threatened by the potential of a young warrior, Gbotija, whose main aim is to avenge the death of his father.
The movie was released on Netflix streaming platform on Thursday, August 10, 2023.
