A 25-year-old hiker was killed in France by a stray bullet while she was walking in the town of Cassaniouze, AFP reports.
According to the report, the 25-year-old hiker was shot dead on Saturday afternoon in Cantal in a hunting accident, the Police in France revealed.
The hiker, who was walking with her companion, succumbed to her injuries after receiving a stray bullet around 3 p.m. during a hunt organized in the town of Cassaniouze (Cantal), said the gendarmes, confirming information from the newspaper localĀ The Mountain.
The accident occurred during a wild boar hunt.
The suspect is a 17-year-old minor. She tested negative for narcotics and alcohol. Shocked, she was taken care of by the emergency services. An investigation for manslaughter was opened and entrusted to the Aurillac research brigade.
