Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on Thursday, commiserated with the family of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya of the Fountain of Life Bible Church, over the death of his wife, Pastor Mrs Nomthi Odukoya.
Pastor Mrs Nomthi Odukoya died after a battle with cancer for the better part of two years.
Reacting, Governor Sanwo-Olu in a statement posted on his official social media handle on 11th November 2021, extended condolences to Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, his loving family, members of the Fountain of Life Bible Church and the entire Christian faithful.
He said:
“On behalf of my wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwoolu, and the people of Lagos, I hereby express my heartfelt condolences to Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, his loving family, members of the Fountain of Life Bible Church and the entire Christian faithful, over the sad demise of Pastor Mrs Nomthi Odukoya.
Death, as we all know, is one of the harsh realities of life that we have to accept, but nothing prepares us for the death of a loved one.
I, therefore, urge Pastor Odukoya to please take heart and not lose the strength of his mind, as he copes with this loss.
May God grant her eternal rest. Amen,” he added.
The Death Of Pastor Nomthi Odukoya:
The death of Nomthi, a senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, was announced by her husband on Tuesday evening.
The instagram post from Pastor Taiwo about the passing of his wife read: “With deep regret and gratitude to God, we have to announce the passing of our Senior Pastor’s wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya.
“She battled cancer for the better part of 2 years, she stood on the Word of God, and she fought.
“We loved her with all our heart, but who are we to fight with the will of God.
“The truth is, at one point in our lives, we all will have to say goodbye. So for now, till we meet again in glory, Goodbye Pastor Nomthi,” the statement added.
Recall that Pastor Taiwo lost his first wife, Pastor Bimbo, PBO, on December 10, 2005, as result of the Sosoliso plane crash.
