The National leader of the ruling party of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reacted to Philip Shekwo’s death, while also commiserating with Governor Abdullahi and the people of Nasarawa State.
Bola Tinubu Taking to his official Twitter handle on Tuesday 8th December 2020, where he condemned Philip Shekwo’s gruesome murder, said:
“Shekwo’s killing was a callous, wicked and dastardly act. He did not deserve to die the way he did. Indeed, no one deserves to be so killed in such a gruesome manner.
I commiserate with Governor Abdullahi and the government of Nasarawa State. I hope and pray that security agents will get to the bottom of this horrid killing and bring the perpetrators to book.
My hearts also go out to the family of the deceased, the immediate-past governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura, and the teeming APC members in the state.
I pray that Almighty Allah comfort them all. In particular, I pray that Allah stand by the wife and children, and indeed by all those left behind by the deceased. May the soul of Mr. Shekwo rest in the bosom of the Lord,” he added.
The late Philip Shekwo was found dead hours after he was abducted by unknown gunmen from his residence on November 21, 2020.
The Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule, had on the 1st December 2020, confirmed that the suspected killer, identified as Muhammad Usman, is a notorious kidnapper. The governor had said this about the killers of Philip Shekwo:
“He was arrested in Assakio, exactly where we thought we were going to get him and we were able to get him,” he said.
Sule said the suspect has already confessed that he was responsible for Shekwo’s death.
